Saraki Release: Jubilation In Ilorin

Published

on

There was jubilation yesterday in Ilorin, the hometown of Senate President Bukola Saraki in Kwara State following his acquittal by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in Abuja.

Scores of All Progressives Congress (APC) flocked to the streets, drumming, singing and dancing.

The APC secretariat was a beehive as a jubilant crowd of women wore multi-coloured customised T-shirts to celebrate the moment.

Kwara APC chairman Alhaji Isola Balogun Fulani said it was clear the false assets declaration allegation against Saraki was politically-motivated.

“The entire APC members and all peace-loving people of Kwara State are very happy. We knew that this is a politically-motivated charge, but God has vindicated us, and it is a plus to democracy. This also allows us to have confidence in the judiciary.

“We are going to the Emir of Ilorin to rejoice with him and thank him for

supporting our leader, the Senate President. From there, we will move to the Governor of Kwara State to thank him for his support from the onset up to the end of this time and to also pray for him.”

Former APC women leader and chairperson, Kwara state local government service commission, Alhaja Sarat Adebayo, said the ruling was a welcome development.

“We appreciate President Buhari for doing justice to the whole issue. The judgment is a welcome development to Kwarans as a whole,” she said.

The ABS Mandate Constituency office of Dr. Saraki also thanked God for the outcome of the case.

Prostitute drags Uber driver to court for failing to pay N6,000 ‘service charges’

Published

A 28-year-old Uber driver, Sunday Omale, was on Tuesday arraigned before Magistrate E. Kubeinje of an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly refusing to pay a commercial sex worker.

Omale, who resides at Alhaja Elesin Street, Ogudu, is facing assault occasioning bodily harm after having three rounds of sex with one Precious Mustapha.

The accused was alleged to have refused paying her N6,000, being her service charge.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 29 at Ogudu area of the state.

Ihiehie said Omale allegedly assaulted the complainant after having canal knowledge of her.

The prosecutor said that the 28-year-old complainant suspected to be a commercial sex worker had reported the matter to the Police.

Ihiehie said that the complainant had met Omale at the African Shrine, Ikeja, where she charged him N6,000 after having three rounds of sex with her.

The prosecution said an argument ensued between them as Omale claimed that he did not have cash on him, and suggested the option of using his ATM card to withdraw money to pay her.

Ihiehie said Omale drove with the complainant round Ikeja and Ogudu axis without stopping at any of the banks where he could have used his ATM card to withdraw money.

The prosecution said Omale also deceived the complainant by driving her to his friend’s house with the pretext of collecting money from him to pay her.

“Unfortunately, the accused’s friend chased him out of his compound.

“When it became clear to the accused that there was no place where he could get money, he used an object to hit Precious Mustapha on the head and started beating her,’’ Ihiehie said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Omale, who was not represented by any counsel, pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Kubeinje, however, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties who must have evidence of tax payment for two years.

The magistrate adjourned the case until September 25.

READ: Five underwear tips for maximum comfort during menstruation

Published

on

Comfort is unarguably part of every lady’s top priority when ‘Aunt Flow’ comes visiting.

While on your period, mood swings, cramps and nausea make you uncomfortable.

The type of underwear and its features also goes a long way in determining how comfortable you feel.
Here are five tips to consider for underwear choice while menstruating.

Use bright coloured underwear

While you might be tempted to use dark coloured underwear for fear of stains, they are not your best option because dark colours are good conductors of heat.
Your pubic area should be free of moisture and heat. Bright coloured underwear such as cream, baby pink, shy blue, and white repel heat and keep you dry.

Tight but not tight

In between tight and loose is what you need. Your underwear should be tight enough to hold your sanitary wears and lose enough to avoid friction on your skin.

Cotton material

Do not use underwear made from lyrac, nylon or lace materials as they reduce aiflow and make your sweaty. Cotton underwear is absorbent, soft and comfortable. They also let go of stains easily.

Use pant liners for tampons

If you are using tampons, it would be safer to lay a liner on your panties, especially if you are using your favourites, so you don’t ruin them.

Medium-sized underwear

You would need panties big enough to cover your pubic region and hold your sanitary pads in place. You may want to avoid g-strings. You may use seamless pants to avoid panties lines traces on your clothes.
